Probably the closest real restaurant to the Travelodge. This is the nearest you will find to real Italian cooking outside of Italy. Run by Alberto the owner/chef cooking authentic Italian dishes, he will come and discuss his menu with you and ask you how you would like it cooked, if its not on the menu he will cook it for you, invariably there is a special dish of the day. The food is complemented by wonderful Italian wines and lots of family attention, service and conversation. This is a totally unique restaurant nestled in the tiny village of West Horndon, you couldn't go wrong by starting with a Bellini Cocktail (peach and Champagne ), this has stuck in my memory from my first visit to this restaurant 25 years ago, and for this restaurant to have been going for 25 years it shows you how special it is.
